Thank you Rolfing clients.
Without even knowing about it I won something I am not technically doing. On July 29, 2011 I won third place in the Daily Bee for the best massage therapist in Bonner County. As all my clients know, Rolfing is not massage… but it is bodywork, so often bodywork is defaulted to the massage category. As the only Rolfer in the county I would win number one if there was one for Rolfers, but there isn’t.
I like winning at things I don’t do – thank you.
Clients and people I met ask if there was simple book or pamphlet that explains Rolfing SI in ways that an average person could understand it. I attempted to clearly describe why someone would receive Rolfing, simply how it works and what it feels like to have a session. There is a section of frequently asked questions.
Send this ebook to others you want to try Rolfing. I love to your what think.

Back pain is the most common reason someone comes to see me. Often these clients have tried many other therapies before calling me, some are desperate.
Recently I did an interview for the web site – Living with Back Pain. I discuss how Rolfing can help acute and chronic back pain. Check the interview out here.
The effects of Rolfing and structural integration are discussed in an article first written in the Chicago Tribune, then published in the Spokesman Review. The article does a good job describing Rolfing and Ida Rolf, Ph.D., its founder.
The article makes a good point –
There’s a growing community of practicing, certified Rolfers. The Rolf Institute of Structural Integration in Boulder, Colo., is the only educational facility in the country that offers Rolfing certification.
As Rolfing grows, more people are claiming to be Rolfers or “Rolfed trained.” Unfortunately, the misrepresenting what they do often leave their clients short.
It is good to see more press on Rolfing. As a profession we have been lacks in getting the word out.
Recently Align.org was selected as one of the top blogs on Alternative Health by Alltop.com, the primer aggregate sites for blogs.
Check it out. There are some great sites on the page.
Jane Fritz wrote a long article for the Spokane newspaper, The Inlander. She writes about what Rolfing can do for clients. She also interviewed physicians as part of the article.
