What do women not talk about it? It is their pelvic floor. Men, don’t think you are immune from pelvic floor problems – you aren’t.
Most would associate pelvic floor problems with urinary incontinence, but actually they are your sex muscles. It is difficult to have good sex without good pelvic floor tone. By tone I am not speaking strength in the sense of hard and tight. I am speaking about soft tissue being like the muscles of a cat, relaxed and strong.
Susan Gala, the developer of Sexhercise – Feminine Fitness from Within™ understands how to un-tone pelvic floor muscles in shape. Check out her site and blog – www.pelvicfloorexercise.net.
This past weekend I meant Susan at a book writing conference in N.Y.C. She impressed me with her understanding of the pelvic floor and how to tone it. As a Rolfer I know what Susan says is true –
As females we may be at risk of developing pelvic floor problems, such as stress incontinence, pelvic floor weakness or pain during intimacy. Life events such as childbirth, menopause, poor diet or the natural aging process can cause changes in our pelvic floor muscles. Stronger pelvic floor muscles can improve stress incontinence a condition affecting over 12 million women in the US.
Rolfing is not the only way to access and tone your pelvic floor.
