Robert Schleip was Germany’s first certified Rolfer. He turned into a histological researcher after 13 years of teaching Rolfing and becoming dissatisfied with the “pseudoscientific mentality behind what [he] was doing.”+
His website, www.somatics.de is known for its collection of articles discussing the techniques and philosophy of Rolfing as well as other somatic therapies. The website has articles for somatic practitioners looking to enhance their knowledge as well as the layman looking to learn more about the way the therapy works. The layout isn’t likely to arouse any admiration, but a Google-powered search engine helps you find what you need from the huge store of information.
If you’re looking for articles to further your understanding of Structural Integration–especially if you’re a professional looking to learn about the nitty-gritty details of some of the work–it’s a great place to go.
